The Healthy Eating Active Communities (HEAC) has sponsored the first train the trainer session at Esperanza and has graduated a total of 12 promotoras de Salud as Nutrition and Physical Activity Health Ambassadors. All of the Promotoras are graduates of the Class of 2009.
The Son y Sabor de la Salud curriculum was created and is being implemented by Promotoras de Salud from Esperanza Community housing Corporation. The program focuses on three main components: promoting physical activity, nutrition, and environmental change. Each session is conducted in a 2 hour period, with a 15 minute physical activity and a cooking demonstration.

The Son y Sabor de la Salud program contributes important health elements designed to prevent many illnesses and help to manage chronic conditions.
